Just install more ram.

Everybody knows that 4GB of ram is the standard now. But 4GB is still pretty slow because more people have 4GB like my sister and she has tons of applications up. My sister always complains about lag on tetris battle. She had like 5 apps running at the same time. Plus I had to update her plugins for flash and shockwave player. That might help a lot. I upgraded my ram to 8GB because 4GB didn't cut it for me for editing really long clips and keep getting spinning beach balls. I am planning to record more community events when I get a canon 7D and also I have to figure out a way to get tons of memory on the canon 7D for cheap. I personally think that 8GB is the new standard for computer users, because I think it's the sweet spot. I got 8GB of Crucial memory and it's running faster.
