Pakistanis flee new monsoon floods in south

On this day in Pakistan,some 200,000 people have been forced to leave their homes in the Thatta area of Sindh province, where dozens of villages are flooded.
In the north, volunteers have begun to help to clean up the flood. The UN has approved for more helicopters to reach 800,000 people who are cut off from power.
Doctors in many areas are struggling to cope with the spread of water-born diseases such as diarrhoea and cholera. These diseases spread quickly through water, infecting the residents.
Five million Pakistanis have no shelter, and need tents or plastic sheeting to protect them from the sun.
The UN says more than 17 million people have been affected by the floods, and about 1.2 million homes have been destroyed.
The vast body of water that has swept the length of Pakistan is now threatening previously unaffected communities in Sindh province, at the country's southern tip.
Overnight, the authorities have been organizing a mass evacuation from the town of Thatta - near the mouth of the Indus delta - and surrounding villages.
At the moment, all that stands between locals and the vast weight of water is an embankment, which has started to crack in places. If it bursts, the whole area could be submerged.
Likely 800,000 people are still stranded, the UN says - many in the northwest region, where roads and bridges have been swept away.
I think we should all help in some way. I encourage you to donate to a non profit charity that will help the victims of these floods. We have all been fortunate enough to not be in a crisis like this and we should help people who are and have been in one. Most things can be replaced but some like memories can never be erased.

Stop signs save many lives, but excessive proliferation

10 Seconds of delay x 3.000 cars
=8.3/day/stop sign
x $20/ hour( Average wage)
= $167 / day of lost time for that stop sign
=$60.875 /year
+ $51.363 gas costs= $ 112,238/ year for that sign
PV of that annuity discounted @ 5% = $2,244,766!!!

New imac

This month I got a new mac, and this is a really wonderful computer and I will explain why. Macs come with programs already downloaded with your mac and that's a really good, It comes with Ilife programs that offers you very good programs. A other reason I love mac because it doesn't get viruses and think of this way if you a PC and it gets a virus and it will need to get a new computer so that will =$1200 on average, that means a person on average spends $600 dollars a computer. The macs have a better operating system and better graphics, I will tell you why to get a mac, it's because of the operating system and it's cost roughly 200+ and that's a lot and mac offers the new OS for $30 bucks and it's takes less storage on your hard drive. Better external and internal parts, The outside of the computer is sexy and hardcore and some PC laptops have weak parts, PCs have really bad design everything is not perfect and Macs are really perfect because if you are a PC fan you can use bootcamp and you can use windows on Mac so that's good for the PCs users who likes the software and likes the Macs hardware, The internal parts in the Mac is really nice inside because the use state of the art parts and they work harder on the design so people can use it 10 years or more instead of PCs that can't hardly last 3 years. Reading blogging for dummies

I am reading blogging for dummies. It is really useful because it tell you a lot of things you don't know before. Like robot spams are after you on the comments of your post. I am going to add word verification so robots can't comment on my post.Another thing is that I helped my mom make a blog. Like I showed my mom how to post and edit you template if you don't like it so much. My mom said I inspired people in the other post. And I helped a friend make a twitter page. It was pretty easy teaching people how to do things. But I never had a chance to teach seniors. It might be kind of hard to teach new people like seniors.
